Counting the hours until the 1st WHPP Ice Hockey Festival & Academy

6th April 2023, Maribor – Women’s ice hockey teams from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia are en-route to Maribor where a three-day gathering of young girls and women committed to the world’s fastest team sport is about to start tomorrow.

The first Women’s Hockey Partnership for Progress Academy and Festival will be hosting around 150 participants, ranging from players, to coaches, team leaders and game officials. From Friday to Sunday each team will play total of four games. The exchange of knowledge on the ice will be supplemented by expert workshops for players, coaches goalie coaches, team leaders and game officials.

The organisers have with the support of the International Ice Hockey Federation invited experts from Europe and USA: Alexia CHEYROUX (FRA), Erika HOLST (SWE), Heather MANNIX (USA), Katja PASANEN (FIN) and Florence SCHELLING (SUI). Most of them are former players themselves and they will be able to share their knowledge and experience with young players, hoping to #InspireTheNext generation in women’s ice hockey.
